Elaine’s career trajectory is as diverse as it is impactful. For a decade, she served in the Texas government as a case manager. She then diversified her skills, working in law enforcement and security for 5 years. For the next 16 years, she worked as a travel nurse and nurse manager. In 2019, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream and entered law school to become a solicitor.
After years in public service and healthcare, Elaine sought a career where she could have greater autonomy and more effectively advocate for people. It's her desire to show her children and grandchildren that it's never too late to follow one's dreams that keeps her motivated. Working at Meliora, she has found the respect and diversity that she felt was missing in previous roles. She is passionate about international law and is honoured to be working in a setting where everyone is committed to dignity and respect.
Currently, Elaine is focusing her training on asylum and immigration law.
Elaine enjoys traveling and what she calls "rubbish telly." She is passionate about photography, especially capturing the beauty of nature. She also loves cooking and trying new recipes. Shopping at markets and charity shops is one of her favourite pastimes.
"Elaine is a relentless advocate who brings compassion and meticulous care to every case. She brings the same level of dedication to her legal practice that she brought to healthcare. Working with her reassured us that we were in the best of hands."
